November 16, 2006 - Fairfield County Bank held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, November 15th to celebrate the opening of its new Operations Center at 94 Danbury Road in Ridgefield.  The 40,000 square foot building is located behind Starbucks and is accessible from the South Street Bypass and Danbury Road.

The first floor of the building brings together the many “back-office” operations of the bank and will have approximately 80 employees. The departments located at the Operations Center include Administration, Technology, Operations, Marketing, Human Resources, Finance, Compliance/Audit, and the bank’s Call Center.  The second floor of the building is comprised of 10 luxury apartments which are all rented. There is no space available to rent on the first floor.

“With offices all over Fairfield County, we could have opened the Operations Center in another town, but we chose Ridgefield because it is the home of Fairfield County Bank. The opening of the Operations Center has retained 80 jobs in town and demonstrates our commitment to the community. The building and all of our banking equipment will add to the town’s non-residential tax base which is very important to all taxpayers,” stated Gary Smith, President and CEO of Fairfield County Bank.

Fairfield County Bank, which has $1.37 billion in assets, includes the division of Ridgefield Bank and operates 17 branches in eight markets; Ridgefield, Georgetown, Wilton, Norwalk, Rowayton, Darien, Fairfield, and Westport.

The Main Office branch continues to operate at 150 Danbury Road, Ridgefield. The bank’s other two Ridgefield branch locations at 374 Main Street and Ancona’s Market at 720 Branchville Road continue to operate as full service branches.

The new Operations Center is one of a number of strategies the bank is implementing to support its continued growth. Fairfield County Bank is considered a top performer and “high growth” bank by industry experts who track financial performance. Fairfield County Bank has had a “5-Star Superior” rating from BauerFinancial for fourteen consecutive years.
