FAIRFIELD COUNTY BANK SPONSORS SEMINAR ON PROVIDING CARE FOR SENIORS
Monday, December 1, 2014 – Rowayton, CT: On Wednesday, January 21, 2015, the Rowayton Library will host an informational seminar on choosing and providing care for aging loved ones. Fairfield County Bank is sponsoring the event alongside the Rowayton Library. The program will include a panel of experts including an insurance expert, a geriatric care consultant, an attorney who specializes in elder law, and more.
Nancy Romberg, Branch Manager of Fairfield County Bank’s Rowayton Office, is helping co-organize the event, “This seminar is being offered to the community in an attempt to educate caregivers and family members that are trying to navigate the overwhelming and emotional arena surrounding care of our aging, frail seniors. We hope to spread the word in our communities about all the help for families that is available as they enter the eldercare maze! Families really don’t know where to start, what to look for or even what questions to ask,” said Romberg.
Nancy is helping organize the program alongside the Library’s executive director, Melisa Yurechko. “Our library is a social hub in the Rowayton community, and we develop strong relationships with our patrons. Lately, we have repeatedly heard about the challenges that are faced when the need to take care of aging parents arises. Often it happens suddenly and people find themselves pushed to their emotional and financial limits trying to do what's right. We want to offer this workshop to help people get the answers they need so that they can take good care of the people they love,” said Yurechko.
The event will run from 7 – 9 p.m. at the Rowayton Library Community Center located at 33 Highland Avenue in Rowayton. Refreshments will be served and the event is free to attend. Those who wish to attend the seminar must RSVP by calling the Library at 203.838.5038 or by email at circ@rowayton.org. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held Wednesday January 28.
