Drew Cunningham, Assistant Vice President, BSA Officer, Named 2026 New Leader in Banking by Connecticut Bankers Association
Ridgefield, CT—October 08, 2026: Fairfield County Bank is proud to announce that Drew Cunningham, Assistant Vice President, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer, recently received the 2026 New Leaders in Banking award from the Connecticut Bankers Association. This prestigious award recognizes emerging banking leaders across the state who have made significant contributions to their organization.
“Drew’s leadership, dedication, and commitment to protecting our clients and the Bank have made a lasting impact on our organization. He consistently seeks out further education opportunities for himself and his team, keeping them up to date on financial crime trends. We are proud to see him recognized with this well-deserved honor,” said Marcie Coffin, Executive Vice President of Audit, Compliance and Risk.
Honorees who demonstrated exemplary leadership within their bank and community were selected by an independent panel of judges. The recipients were honored at the New Leaders Awards Ceremony at the Bristol Event Center on October 01, during which each was asked to speak about their leadership journey in banking. In his remarks, Drew emphasized the importance of community service as part of his role and Fairfield County Bank’s support of that commitment.
Mr. Cunningham started his career at the Bank in 2009 in Retail Banking, spending time in the Deposit Operations Department before his tenure with Risk Management. As BSA Officer, Drew is responsible for leading a team of specialists who monitor high-risk transactions and accounts in order to protect both the Bank and its clients. He works closely with Fairfield County Bank’s Risk Management Officer to assist with regulatory and audit compliance.
Outside of the office, Drew is an avid cyclist who logs his rides through Charity Miles, which donates 10 cents for every mile completed to a charity of his choice. In 2026, his miles support Housatonic Habitat for Humanity.
